We’re moving out of the city, I will let everyone know that we have a new mailing address! This is a bold statement to make especially since you also run a business out of your home, and over the years you have depended on those checks to come to your home on a certain day of the week from your clients worldwide. Over the years since you, and your family have resided at your luxury home in the city, you have established a contract with UPS where they come to your location, and pick up your merchandise that you send out worldwide to your clients. Upon moving you put in a change of address through the Postal Service, but you put it as an entire family, which makes sense, but your wife is a Doctor, who prefers to use her maiden name which is Ortega-Sanchez, instead of your last name, which is Green, and you have only put in a change of address for your business Greenwave Inc., but your wife didn’t submit a change for her Dermatology business, which is called Skin Perfect Dermatology, your son, who is going to college out of state, also has a different last name than Green, so there wasn’t a change of address submitted in his name as well. After holding mail for the prior residents, and there isn’t a change of address submitted in your wife’s business, nor her last name, and no change of address submitted in your son’s last name as well, all of their mail will be returned to the sender after 10 days.
Is there a solution to fix all of these issues, yes, there is a solution. If you call (800)ASK-USPS you might have the opportunity to speak to your former carrier, or supervisor to explain your dilemma, after being informed to submit change of address forms for all family members with different last names, as well as business addresses as well, the only thing left to do would be to call UPS, to inform them that you have moved out of town, and see if they still provide the same service in your new location. Call all of your credit cards, magazine subscriptions and inform them as well of your new address, and update any items that you might auto-ship from.
